not so well camouflaged here, a sandstone coloured lizard eyes the camera. very fast, they can scatter rapidly over the rocks with remarkable grip, but also not scared to leap when going downhill

the western cape on its own forms the cape floral kingdom with 9000 fynbos plant species, the other few defined kingdoms are mapped to whole continents. lank many insect species too thus and traversing higher up the food chain some splendid birds, but no real big animals anymore. these reptile dudes are a bit harder to observe
