that's the hexrivier and mountains other side of worcester, the last high mountain range and watershed before the dry elevated plains of the karoo en route to the uncivilised north

the vineyards here are for export table grapes. it is autumn, april, and every time this time of the year after the harvest a virus sets out colouring the vines in those rich autumny colours before they drop their leaves for winter. the farmers say the new cultivars are not going to do that anymore
